Presidential election: Candidates to withdraw nominations by 4PM

Valid candidates can withdraw their nominations by 4PM on Tuesday (August 18).

If no candidate withdraws, voting for the presidency will be held on Thursday (August 20).

Election Commission (EC) officials said candidates have until 4PM, in line with the election schedule, to withdraw their candidacies. The final list of candidates will be published after the deadline.

If more than one candidate remains in the race, voting will take place in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban chamber on August 20.

EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed said voting will be held from 2PM to 5PM that day.
