A mobile court has been conducted at various animal feed and meat shops at Chhatak Bazar and Pagol Hasan Chattar in Sunamganj.

Four poultry feed and medicine shops and butcher shops were fined a total of Tk 45,000.

The drive was conducted on Monday (August 17) under the Fish Feed and Animal Feed Act, 2010, and the Animal Slaughter and Meat Quality Control Act, 2011. Action was taken against the institutions concerned for various violations.

During the drive, officials inspected the necessary documents, product quality and storage facilities at various animal feed and medicine shops, as well as meat shops.

Legal action was taken over irregularities and substandard products. At the same time, substandard and rotten meat posing a risk to public health was seized. The Chhatak Upazila Livestock Officer served as the prosecutor during the drive.

The authorities said that such drives will continue to ensure safe food for consumers and maintain the quality of animal feed and meat.
