PM Tarique to get warm welcome in India: Trivedi

Dinesh Trivedi, the Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh has said PM Tarique Rahman will receive a warm, fitting and honorable reception upon his visit to India. 

He confirmed that Indian PM Narendra Modi has assured this privilege. Trivedi emphasized on the trip as it will be memorable for both the countries and yield long-term benefits for people in both nations.  

"India and Bangladesh share not just a border, but also shared dreams, aspirations, and equality," the envoy said.

Referring to his meeting with Bangladesh's prime minister, Trivedi praised him as a man of the people. He congratulated him on his victory with a huge majority.

The high commissioner stated that PM Narendra Modi was the first to congratulate Tarique Rahman and extend an invitation to visit India. Following this, the Indian Speaker and External Affairs Minister both visited Bangladesh.

"We are eagerly waiting, and I am very optimistic," Trivedi said. He acknowledged existing issues, adding that differences naturally exist in a vibrant democracy.

He emphasized that India has been working closely with Bangladeshi ministers over recent weeks to address these differences.

Trivedi stressed that India deeply understands the concerns of Bangladeshi people. He added that such concerns can be resolved through frequent dialogue and meetings between both nations.

The Indian High Commission hosted the event in honor of leading Bangladeshi business leaders and a visiting delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
