RAB arrests youth with 1,652 bottles of Phensedyl-like drugs in Jhenaidah

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a young man during an operation in Jhenaidah and seized 1,652 bottles of Phensedyl-like drugs-590 bottles of Fairdil and 1,062 bottles of Skaff-along with a covered van.

The arrestee Shahin, is the son of Md Abdul Malek of Joykalipur village under Bancharampur Police Station in Brahmanbaria district.

Acting on a tip-off, RAB-6, CPC-2, Jhenaidah Camp conducted a raid in the Hamdah Bypass intersection area under Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station at around 11:30 PM on Tuesday (August 18).

RAB said the seized drugs were confiscated in accordance with legal procedures in the presence of witnesses. Later, a regular case was filed against the arrested man under the Narcotics Control Act at Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station. The seized evidence and the arrested suspect were subsequently handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action.

Squadron Leader Md Emamim Mubin Sarker Sumon, company commander of RAB-6, CPC-2, Jhenaidah Camp, said,  “RAB’s operations would continue to arrest regular case accused, convicted individuals and wanted suspects, as well as to recover illegal firearms and drugs. 

Operations would also continue to bring those involved in sensational murders, rape and other serious crimes to justice, he added.
