Model Ridhi’s boyfriend denied bail in suicide abetment case

A Dhaka court on Wednesday rejected the bail petition of Hasibur Rahman, boyfriend of model Ridhika Ridhi, in a case filed over alleged abetment of her suicide.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin passed the order after hearing a bail petition filed by Hasibur’s lawyer Golam Kibria Choton.

Ridhi’s body was recovered from her residence in Bashundhara Residential Area on Saturday morning. Her family members took her to Kurmitola General Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Ridhi’s mother, Moni Begum, filed the case under the allegation of abetment to suicide, naming Hasibur as the accused. Police arrested him from Ridhi’s residence on the day of the incident.

Police said Ridhi was on a video call with Hasibur around the time of the incident. Although the incident initially appeared to be a suicide, investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding her death.

Ridhi had worked as a model and acted in several television dramas, including Ekhane Manush Bikri Hoy, Bahurupi, Double Honeymoon and Sundori.
