Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed hope for building a happy, prosperous, and welfare-oriented nation.
He shared his vision with the media on Thursday ahead of the voting process.
Fakhrul envisioned a state where working-class and marginalized people can secure basic meals, live in a healthy environment, and enjoy safe lives. He stressed creating employment for youth and self-employment opportunities for women.
He added that Bangladeshis would present themselves as a self-respecting nation on the global stage, expressing confidence that the country would achieve these goals under the leadership of Tarique Rahman.
Expressing gratitude to the Almighty and the public, Fakhrul thanked citizens, media personnel, and professionals for their support during long struggles for rights. He extended special gratitude to BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Overcome with emotion, Fakhrul remembered former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, acknowledging her guidance during his political career.
Fakhrul, who began his political journey through left-wing student politics and Bhashani NAP, later joined the BNP founded by Ziaur Rahman. He was elected MP from the Thakurgaon-1 constituency in 2001 and served in the cabinet.
