Schoolboy drowns in Dohar

A Class IX student drowned in a water body after playing football in Dohar upazila of Dhaka on Friday morning (August 21).
The tragic incident occurred around 8:30 AM.
The deceased was identified as Vishal Ghosh, 16, son of Monir Ghosh from East Lotakhola area under the upazila. He was a ninth-grade student at local Azahar Ali Memorial High School (Azahari School).
Family members and local sources said Vishal went to Joypara College ground around 6:00 AM on Friday to play football with friends and seniors. They played together until morning.
At one stage after the match ended, Vishal fell into nearby water and went missing.
Upon receiving the news, family members rushed to the spot, rescued him, and took him to Dohar Upazila Health Complex. The attending emergency doctor declared him dead around 10:30 AM.
The sudden death of the student brought a deep pall of gloom over his family, classmates, and local residents.
