Boy drowns in pond while chasing football

An eight-year-old boy drowned in a pond while trying to recover a football in Lohagara upazila in Chattogram on Friday (August 21) morning.

The boy, who drowned, was Arian Abedin from Kumiraghona Baitush Sharaf Para of Barahatia union.

As per the sources, the tragic incident took place around 10AM when the boy was playing football with his friends near his house.

The football went into the pond nearby and the boy jumped into the pond along with two other boys to retrieve it.While the other two boys made it out of the pond, Arian died in the pond.

Locals recovered him and took him to the nearby hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.
