Energy crisis forces factory closure: JaPa

Production in various industries is being disrupted and factories are closing amid the ongoing gas and electricity crisis, leaving workers unemployed, said Jatiya Party Secretary General and freedom fighter ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader.

He said the crisis was no longer confined to the industrial sector, but was affecting employment, production, trade and commerce, as well as the livelihoods of ordinary people.

Ruhul Amin Howlader made the remarks at an emergency party meeting at the Jatiya Party chairman’s office in Gulshan on Sunday. “Many industries are unable to maintain normal production due to the gas crisis. 

Production has declined in some places, while factories are closing in others. Workers are the worst affected when factories shut down. They lose their jobs and become unemployed, which also puts their families under pressure,” he said.
