Former Bhairab councillor hacked to death

A formar councillor of ward number one of Bhairab Municipality and general secretary of the municipal Jubo League was hacked to death in an attack by miscreants Monday (August 24) night.

The victim was Md Al-Amin Saikat. The attack occurred at the Tinpatti locality of Bhairab Bazar. According to locals, the assailants hacked him up with lethal weapons, rendering him seriously injured.

He was first admitted to the health complex of Bhairab Upazila. Later, when taking him to Dhaka in critical condition, he breathed his last on the way.

Saikat hailed from the business family of Jasim Mia of Bhairabpur Uttarpara. He was also a formar eirector of Bhairab Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
