PM's India visit under discussion: Humayun Kabir

Humayun Kabir, State Minister for Foreign Affairs said both India and Bangladesh are working on PM Tarique Rahman’s upcoming visit to India. 

“The schedule for government chief’s visit will be finalized through bilateral discussions,” State Minister added.
 
The remarks were made during an interview with a television channel after assuming office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs following the distribution of portfolios on Monday (August 24).

Regarding the Prime Minister’s visit, the State Minister stated that both Dhaka and New Delhi are coordinating the process. The date will be set at a mutually convenient time.

Humayun Kabir viewed the recent statement by Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Bangladesh-India bilateral relations as positive.

He further emphasized that his primary responsibility will be maintaining a diplomatic balance while safeguarding national interests, adding that bilateral relations will be based on equality and fairness.
