Photographer Farid Ahammad Rony Shines on the Global Stage

A single photograph can outlive generations, preserving fleeting moments and sustaining their impact over time. Guided by this philosophy, Bangladeshi documentary photographer, photojournalist, and author Farid Ahammad Rony has built an internationally acclaimed career by capturing truth, culture, and humanity through his camera.

Born in the quiet village of Joar Kachar in Feni District, Rony's childhood curiosity has evolved into an internationally respected profession. Working extensively across Europe, he continues to share powerful stories from behind the scenes.

A major milestone in his career is his trilingual book, Images of Paris, published in Bengali, English, and French. Seamlessly blending architecture, history, and daily culture, the book has received widespread international acclaim including formal praise and recognition from French President Emmanuel Macron for its artistic depth.

During the Change NOW Summit at the historic Grand Palais in Paris, Rony presented copies of his book to H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, former French Prime Minister and COP21 President Laurent Fabius, and UN Under-Secretary-General Melissa Fleming. The publication was also presented to former Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, earning official appreciation from the mayoral office for fostering cultural dialogue.

Beyond photojournalism, Rony played a pivotal role in the diplomatic and administrative efforts that led to the official naming of "Place du Professeur Muhammad Yunus" in France, honoring Nobel Laureate Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and strengthening France-Bangladesh ties.

Over the past decade, Rony has documented prestigious global events, including the Cannes Film Festival, UN Climate Conferences (COP), Paris Peace Forum, Paris 2024 Olympic Games, French Open, and the Ballon d'Or ceremony. His work has earned him numerous honors, such as the AJFB Star Award, TRAB Award, Bangladesh Excellence Awards, and the Best Photographer accolade from Dreams In Frame Production House.

Despite his international achievements, Rony remains deeply connected to his roots. He serves as President of the Feni Photographic Society, guiding the next generation of visual storytellers. He is a member of Press Club de France, Reporters Without Borders (RSF), and the Photographic Society of America (PSA), as well as a Life Member of the Bangladesh Photographic Society and an adviser to the Dhaka Photographers Club.
