SSC, equivalent exams to begin on Mar 14

The 2027 SSC and equivalent examinations have been rescheduled, with the written tests now set to begin on March 14 and end on April 15, according to the revised timetable issued by the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.

The examinations will begin at 10am each day, while all practical examinations must be completed by April 22. The revised schedule was published on the website of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board at around 5:30pm on Monday (August 24).

Under the new timetable, the Bangla (compulsory) first paper examination will be held on March 14, followed by Bangla second paper on March 16, English first paper on March 18, English second paper on March 21 and compulsory Mathematics on March 25.

The Chemistry, Civics and Citizenship, and Business Entrepreneurship examinations will be held on April 4, Accounting on April 8, and Biology and Economics on April 13. The theoretical examinations will conclude with Religious and Moral Education on April 15.

All practical examinations must be completed by April 22, with marks submitted online. Practical examinations will begin at 10am at the candidates’ respective centres.

Candidates for Music must report to their centres by 9:30am on the scheduled examination day with the required musical instruments and identification teachers at their own expense. Separate practical notebooks, rather than the original answer scripts, will be used for practical examinations.

Candidates must enter the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start and take their designated seats. There will be no interval between the multiple-choice (MCQ) and creative or written sections of an examination.

Candidates must pass each component�"theoretical, MCQ and practical�"separately. Admit cards must be collected from the respective educational institutions at least seven days before the examinations begin.

As part of measures to ensure examination security and prevent malpractice, no one other than the centre secretary will be permitted to carry or use a mobile phone at an examination centre. Candidates may use a board-approved ordinary calculator.
