3-member cabinet committee formed to assist agriculture ministry

The government has formed a three-member cabinet committee to advise and assist the Agriculture Ministry in overseeing fertiliser lifting, distribution and dealer appointments.

The Cabinet Division issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday.

Abu Zafar Md Zahid Hossain, Minister for Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare, has been made convener of the committee.

The other members are Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu and State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shah Alam.

According to the notification, the committee will monitor fertiliser lifting, distribution and dealer appointment activities across the country and provide necessary advice to the Agriculture Ministry.

The Agriculture Ministry will provide the committee with necessary secretarial support, it said.
