Fifteen artists to perform at birth anniversary festival of Matal Rajjak Dewan

A total of 15 artists, including famous folk artist Boga Taleb, will perform at the ‘Matal Rajjak Birth Festival’ at TSC of Dhaka University on Thursday (August 27) on the occasion of the birth anniversary of world-famous mystic artist and poet Abdur Rajjak Dewan.

The program will be held from 4pm at Sanjib Chattar of TSC and will be open to all. The other artists who will take part in the program are Khokon Chishti, Maruf Mrinmoy, Akash Gayen, Joyita Orpa, Imran Hossain and Mahbub Khalashi.

Hariken is organising the program. There will also be a commemorative poster available at a nominal cost of Tk 50.

Abdur Rajjak Dewan was born on August 27, 1930 in Keraniganj, Dhaka. Popular for his mystical and dehotattva songs, some of his famous songs are ‘Mod Kheyeci Matal Hoyechi’, ‘Sukh Pakhita Geche Mara’.

He breathed his last on February 16, 2003.
