Iran bolsters military capabilities based on recent war experience

Iran is strengthening its military capabilities based on lessons learned from recent conflicts, the commander of the country’s army air defence force, Brigadier General Amir Alireza Elhami, has said.

Elhami said recent conflicts had provided Iran’s military with valuable experience in air defence. He particularly highlighted lessons from the 40-day war against Israel and the United States that began on February 28.

According to the commander, Iran has introduced changes in several areas based on its wartime experience, including strategy, the production of defence systems, the configuration of various systems and their deployment.

He said Iran is now relying entirely on its own capabilities while continuing to improve its domestically developed defence systems. The country is also developing systems similar to those that proved effective during the 40-day war, he added.

Elhami said Tehran is now focusing on strengthening its air defence capabilities and further developing indigenous, technology-based defence systems by applying lessons learned from the conflict.
