Barcelona have signed Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic from Turkish club Fenerbahce on a four-year contract, the Catalan giants confirmed on Thursday.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper has signed a deal that will keep him at Barcelona until June 30, 2030. Spanish reports had valued the transfer at up to €4 million, with other reports putting the fee at €2 million upfront plus a further €2 million in potential add-ons. Barcelona have not officially disclosed the financial terms of the deal.

Livakovic joined Fenerbahce in 2023 and made 74 appearances for the Turkish club, keeping 24 clean sheets. He spent last season on loan at Girona but did not make an appearance for the Spanish side. He also returned to Dinamo Zagreb on loan later in the season.

Livakovic rose to international prominence during the 2022 World Cup, making crucial saves in penalty shootouts against Japan and Brazil as Croatia reached the semi-finals. He has also represented Croatia at the 2018, 2022 and 2026 World Cups.

At Barcelona, Livakovic is expected to provide competition and depth behind first-choice goalkeeper Joan Garcia, alongside veteran Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. However, reports indicate that Barcelona could still decide to send him out on loan, so his exact role for the upcoming season has not yet been finalized.
