Elderly man killed in clash over land issue, one arrested

RAB has made one arrest over the murder of an elderly man in Noakhali following a land dispute issue.

The accused is identified as Foyez Ullah, 42, son of late Mojibul Haque of Bhatirtek village in Sudharam police station jurisdiction.

As per RAB, the victim and his relatives were attacked with sharp edged weapons on August 12 while they were going to cultivate rice in disputed land in Bhatirtek, Noakhali Sadar upazila. The victim and his two sons were badly injured.

The victim died during treatment at Rajarbagh Police Hospital on August 21. His son filed a case of murder at Sudharam Police Station afterward.
