50 yaba tablets seized, four arrested in Bhola

A total of four persons with 50 yaba tablets have been arrested by the police in Lalmohan upazila of Bhola. They were handed over to court yesterday afternoon after being caught during a drive against drugs at night Thursday at Raipura Kandi locality of Ward No. 9 under Paschim Char Umed union.

These four persons who have been arrested include Md Hasibullah Shamim, 25, son of Md Kajal Islam; Md Mahmudul Hasan, 24, son of Nabiullah; Md Nurnabi, 24, son of Dulal Khandaker; and Md Monir, 25, son of Montaj Mistri.

According to SI Md Asaduzzaman Khan of Lalmohan Police Station, police conducted the drive on the basis of a tip-off and managed to catch the four men from a concrete road in front of Dula Mia Chowkidar’s house. A body search of these four men yielded 50 yaba tablets. It is alleged that these four had been engaging in the business of dealing drugs for a longtime.

A case has been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act.
