Actress and content creator Rukaiya Jahan Chomok has recently drawn widespread attention for dressing up as former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

In an episode of her vlog series Discovering Bangladesh with Chomok, she appeared before the camera in one of Khaleda Zia’s iconic looks. Her sudden choice of attire sparked curiosity, and the actress recently gave a clear explanation when she spoke to journalists at an award ceremony.

Asked whether she adopted the look with the intention of going viral, Chomok said, “Haven’t you watched my Discovering Bangladesh vlog before? When I made videos about the Manipuri or Garo communities, I wore their traditional costumes.

When I made a video about the handloom industry, I wore a handloom sari. Whenever I make a particular video, I adopt a look that goes with the subject. I didn’t do this to go viral. If you pay attention, you’ll understand that this is the pattern I follow when making my videos.”
