EC keeps voters' transfer window open till Sept 7

The Election Commission (EC) has allowed voters to apply for a transfer of their voter area until September 7 ahead of the upcoming local government elections.

The EC announced the schedule in a letter issued on Wednesday. The letter was signed by its Senior Assistant Secretary Md Nasir Uddin Chowdhury.

According to the letter, voters who have changed their place of residence can apply to transfer their voter registration to their new area. The deadline for submitting an application is 7 September.

The deadline for issuing the applications is 9 September. The applications must be processed by 10 September. The EC has sent the instructions to all upazila, thana and registration officers across the country. The officials have been asked to take the necessary steps to process the applications within the set deadlines.
