Govt makes major changes in top administration

The government has made a major reshuffle in the administration, appointing new secretaries to the Public Administration, Health and Culture ministries.

The Public Administration Ministry issued separate notifications in this regard on Wednesday. 
Under the orders, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Industries A.K.M. Benjamin Riazi has been promoted to the rank of secretary and appointed to the Health Education and Family Welfare Division under the Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division Yasmin Begum has also been appointed secretary to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs after promotion.

Meanwhile, Dr. A.N.M. Bazlur Rashid, an additional secretary attached to the Public Administration Ministry, has been promoted to secretary and appointed to the Health Services Division.

In another move, contractual Secretary of the Health Services Division Md Kamruzzaman Chowdhury has been transferred and appointed as a contractual secretary to the Public Administration Ministry while contractual Senior Secretary of the Public Administration Ministry Md Ehsanul Haque has been transferred and appointed as a Member (Senior Secretary) of the Planning Commission.

Meanwhile, Nasrin Jahan, Member (Secretary) of the Socio-Economic Infrastructure Division of the Planning Commission, has been granted post retirement leave (PRL) from government service under the Government Service Act, 2018.

According to the notification, Nasrin Jahan will complete 59 years of age on September 5 and will retire from service accordingly. She will receive a lump-sum grant equivalent to 18 months of her basic salary and has been granted one year of post-retirement leave (PRL) from September 6, 2026, to September 5, 2027.

In a separate notification, Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Kaniz Moula has been attached to the Public Administration Ministry for further posting.
