Student killed in Sirajganj road mishap

SIRAJGANJ, Sept 4: A 19-year-old college student was killed after a bus crashed into a CNG-powered three-wheeler in the Chandidasgati Bazar area of Shialkol Union in Sirajganj Sadar Upazila on Thursday noon. Four people, including the CNG driver, were injured in the accident.

The deceased, Nadia, was the daughter of Babul Akhtar of Hatikumrul Union and was an HSC examinee of Sirajganj Government Rashidazzoha Women’s College. The injured were CNG driver Nazrul Islam, 40, Sumaiya Parvin, 26, and Tanzid, 22.

Officer-in-Charge of Sirajganj Sadar Police Station Md Rakibul Hasan said the CNG was travelling from Nalka toward Sirajganj town when one of its rear wheels came off near Chandidasgati Bazar, causing the driver to lose control. The three-wheeler then collided with a bus coming from Sirajganj, leaving Nadia dead on the spot.
