Motorcyclist killed in Bogura road mishap

BOGURA, Sept 5: A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a speeding truck in the Murail area on the Naogaon-Bogura regional highway in Kahaloo Upazila of the district on Saturday afternoon. 

The deceased, Sirajul Haque, 65, was a resident of Koichar Village in Bogura Sadar Upazila. 

Citing local residents, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Kahaloo Police Station Nur Islam said Sirajul had come to Murail Bazar on his motorcycle.

While crossing the road, he was struck by a rice-laden truck moving from Naogaon towards Bogura. Sirajul suffered critical injuries and died on the spot.

Police seized the truck and took it into custody. The driver was detained, and legal action is being taken under the Road Transport Act, the SI said.
