Pregnant woman, minor daughter found hanging at Sylhet home

A pregnant woman and her four-year-old daughter have been found hanging at their home in Sylhet's Jakiganj.

The deceased were identified as Champa Rani Das, 35, wife of Ratan Das, a jewelry businessman at Shahgali Bazar and a resident of Dashpara, and her four-year-old daughter, Hridi Das.

Local Union Parishad Chairman Mostak Ahmed Chowdhury said, "Champa Rani Das and her daughter were found hanging from the same ceiling fan inside their home in Dashpara of Burhanpur village under Barhal Union of the upazila on Saturday evening. After the news spread, local residents rushed to the scene and later informed the police."

On Sunday (September 6) morning, Zakiganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Abdur Razzaq said, "The bodies were recovered and sent those to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital that night for autopsy."

No one has filed a complaint in connection with the incident so far. Police are investigating the matter."
