Gold prices fall by Tk 2,216 per bhori

The price of gold jewellery has been reduced in the country’s market. The price of one bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold jewellery has been cut by Tk 2,216. The price of one bhori of 22-carat gold jewellery has been set at Tk 235,146 including VAT.
The price was reduced following a decline in the price of refined gold in the local market. The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) said the new price came into effect at 10:00 AM on Sunday (September 6).
Earlier, on September 3, the price of one bhori of high-quality gold jewellery was increased by Tk 5,482. Before that, the price was reduced on August 29, August 31 and September 2. In three rounds, the price of one bhori of high-quality gold jewellery was reduced by a total of Tk 15,863. Prior to those cuts, the price had been increased by Tk 10,964 in three rounds on August 20, 22 and 25. The price has now been reduced again.
The price of one bhori of 22-carat gold jewellery has now been reduced by Tk 2,216 to Tk 235,146, including VAT. The price of one bhori of 21-carat gold jewellery has been reduced by Tk 2,100 to Tk 224,590.
Although gold prices have been reduced, silver jewellery prices remain unchanged. Including VAT, the price of one bhori of 22-carat silver jewellery has been set at Tk 5,132. The price of one bhori of 21-carat silver jewellery is Tk 4,957, while one bhori of 18-carat silver jewellery is Tk 4,257. The price of one bhori of silver jewellery under the traditional method has been set at Tk 3,208.
