BNP has fought to restore democracy whenever it has faced obstacles in Bangladesh, Prime Minister’s Education and Primary and Mass Education Adviser and Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson Mahadi Amin said on Monday.

“Whenever democracy in Bangladesh has faced obstacles, BNP has fought and brought it back,” he said at an event in the capital.

Mahadi said no other political party in Bangladesh had made sacrifices like BNP, adding that the party had made many sacrifices for the country.

He said BNP founder Ziaur Rahman had undertaken various initiatives to develop the country’s economy and other sectors, and BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman had continued that legacy.

Mahadi Amin currently serves as an adviser to the Education Ministry, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment, as well as spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, according to the official PMO website.
