Woman drowns in Birol pond

BIROL, DINAJPUR, Sept 7: A woman drowned in a pond in Birol Municipality area of Birol Upazila of the district on Saturday.

The deceased Mansura Khatun, 50, was the wife of late Mokhlesur Rahman of Shahapara Village of the municipal town.

According to local sources, the deceased was collecting grass for feeding cows. At that time, she fell in the M/s Mahmuda Auto Rice Mill’s pond and drowned. Later, her floating body was recovered and sent to Birol Upazila Health Complex where she was declared dead.
