Hasan Mahmud wins praise after County seven-wicket haul

Hasan Mahmud's seven-wicket return for Kent has strengthened the Bangladesh fast bowler's growing reputation in English county cricket, with teammate Matt Milnes describing him as a "top, top bowler".

Hasan took seven wickets across two innings as Kent beat Worcestershire by 84 runs in the County Championship at Canterbury. He claimed 4-68 in the first innings before returning figures of 3-51 in the second to help Kent secure an important victory.

Milnes had already singled out Hasan's qualities after his first-innings performance, highlighting his pace and unusual bowling action.

"He can bowl good pace, his action's a little bit different, tricky to pick up and he's a top, top bowler," Milnes said. He added that Hasan brings an "X-factor" and a different dynamic to Kent's attack.

Hasan's latest spell further underlined that value. He removed Adam Hose, Henry Cullen and Ben Allison in the second innings as Worcestershire's chase lost momentum.

The performance also continued an impressive county campaign. Hasan has now taken 19 wickets in three Division Two matches this season, according to The Daily Star, after previously claiming 12 wickets in his first two games for Kent.

For Bangladesh, his form offers encouraging depth to a pace attack that has made significant strides in Test cricket this year.
