Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized 164 bottles of illegal Indian liquor worth Tk 2.46 lakh in Nalitabari upazila of Sherpur.
The 39th Battalion of BGB Mymensingh confirmed the seizure on Wednesday (September 9) afternoon. A special BGB patrol team conducted a drive late Tuesday night in the Dawdhara Katabari Para area under Nayabil Union and recovered the abandoned liquor bottles.
Commanding Officer of BGB 39th Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Md Nurul Azim Bayezid reaffirmed the force's zero-tolerance policy against drugs. He stated that BGB personnel remain vigilant day and night to guard the international border and prevent illegal activities across Mymensingh and Sherpur districts.
He added that BGB drives will continue to curb drug trafficking, smuggling, and illegal border crossings.
