Two drug dealers arrested with yaba in Bhola's Lalmohon

Police have arrested two suspected drug dealers with 45 yaba tablets in separate anti-drug drives in Lalmohan upazila of Bhola. They were sent to court on Thursday afternoon.

On Wednesday afternoon, SI Md Ershad Ukil, along with a team of police, conducted an anti-drug operation based on a tip-off in the Mangal Sikdar Bazar area of Ward No. 9 under Dhaligaurnagar Union.

During the operation, police arrested a 27-year-old man named Md Billal and recovered 15 yaba tablets from his possession. He is the son of Md Mahiuddin of Chatla area in Ward No. 4 of Dhaligaurnagar Union.

Meanwhile, on the same day in the evening, SI Md Nurul Amin, along with a team of police, conducted another anti-drug operation based on a tip-off in the Raipurakandi area of Ward No. 9 under Paschim Char Umed Union.

Police arrested another young man, Md Zakir Hossain, 28, from the area and recovered 30 yaba tablets from his possession. He is the son of late Matin Dewan of Ward No. 9 under Paschim Char Umed Union.

Confirming the matter, Lalmohan Police Station OC Md Nazrul Islam Majumdar said a case had been filed against the two arrested men under the Narcotics Control Act.

He said the two were professional drug dealers and were sent to court on Thursday afternoon. Such drives will continue in the coming days to prevent the spread of drugs, he added.
