
The three-day 11th BAPA FoodPro International Expo 2026 began on Thursday at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka.
The international exhibition, focusing on food processing and packaging technologies, will continue until 12 September.
Minister of Food Afroza Khanam, MP, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest and formally inaugurated the exhibition.
The exhibition is jointly organized by the Bangladesh Agro-Processors’ Association (BAPA) and Rainbow Exhibition and Event Management Services Ltd. (REEMS).
More than 200 brands from 27 countries are participating in this year’s event. The organizers expect the exhibition to attract over 24,000 visitors during its three-day run. Participating countries include Algeria, Australia, Bangladesh, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Food Minister Afroza Khanam said, “Bangladeshi food products are now being exported to markets around the world with a strong reputation. We have the potential to earn substantial foreign exchange in the coming days through the agro-processing and food processing sectors. We are working towards achieving this goal. International exhibitions of this kind help build bridges among businesses from different countries and will play an important role in increasing Bangladesh’s exports.
Special guests at the ceremony included Antonio Alessandro, Ambassador of Italy to Bangladesh; Md. Shafiqul Islam, Chairman of the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority; Kazi Emdadul Hoque, Director General of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and Md. Fazlul Hoque, Administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).
Also present were Mahbub Anam, President of BAPA; Ahsan Khan Chowdhury,Chairman of the Expo Organizing Committee and CEO of PRAN-RFL Group, Syed Muhammad Shoaib Hasan, General Secretary of BAPA; Minhaj Ahmed, Treasurer of BAPA.
