DOHA, Sept 10: Qatar has denounced the entry into Syrian territory by Israeli leaders, calling it a “blatant breach of international law” and a “serious threat to regional security”.

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry called it a “flagrant violation” and demanded the international community take urgent action to “compel the Israeli occupation to comply with international legitimacy resolutions” " namely the 1974 agreement to halt its “repeated aggression against Syrian territory”.

Doha said its solidarity is with the Syrian people in achieving their “security, stability and prosperity”.

The condemnation comes as Israel maintains a military presence in southern Syria and occupied areas that were formerly UN buffer zones. Israeli forces continue to launch air strikes, incursions and carry out abductions of Syrians.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also has condemned “in the strongest of terms, the illegitimate entry by the prime minister of the Israeli occupation into the land of the brotherly Syrian Arab Republic”.

In a statement posted on X, the ministry called the entry “an outrageous violation of [Syria’s] sovereignty, the unity of its land, and a violation of international law”.

“Continued incursions and aggressions by the Israeli occupation,” within Syria are “an escalation that undermines security and stability in the region”, according to the statement."AL JAZEERA
