Woman and her teenage son held with drugs in Barguna

Police arrested a woman and her 16 year old son after recovering 400 yaba pills, 200 grams of cannabis and 10,565 BDT in suspected drug sale proceeds during a raid on a house in Barguna’s Amtali Upazila.
The raid was conducted at the house of Baizid Hawladar in Charkagachhia village following information about long running drug sales there. A police team led by SI Tanzil Alam searched the house and recovered the drugs and cash.
Police said Baizid, identified as the alleged main operator of the drug trade, fled after sensing the raid.
Amtali Police Station OC Md Yakub Hossain said legal action was being taken against the two arrested, while efforts were underway to detain Baizid. He added that anti-drug operations would continue.
