Banned Chhatra League Leader Arrested in CTG

Police have arrested a leader of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League from the Khulshi area of Chattogram city.

The arrested man was identified as Hasan Murad, vice-president of the Chattogram North District unit of the organisation. He is a resident of Dhapadighir Par area under Ward No. 1 of Chikandandi Union in Hathazari upazila.

Hathazari police said Murad was arrested on Friday night (September 11) for allegedly leading recent rallies and other programmes organised by the banned student organisation.

The arrest was part of an ongoing police drive to identify and bring to justice those involved in recent rallies and other activities of the banned organisation, police said.
