Daba Harun, associate of alleged terrorist David Emon, arrested

Police have arrested Md Harun alias ‘Daba Harun’, an alleged associate of notorious criminal David Emon, in Fatikchhari of Chattogram.

He was arrested around 7:00 PM on Saturday from Hachi Sardar Para in Manikpur area of Kanchannagar Union, Fatikchhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Rabiul Alam Khan said.

Police said Harun’s name surfaced during the interrogation of Mohammad Mobarak Hossain alias ‘Tester Mobarak’, who was arrested earlier in the day with locally made weapons while allegedly preparing to commit robbery.

Harun is the son of Badiul Alam of Hachi Sardar Para in Manikpur. He is locally known as ‘Daba Harun’.

According to police, Harun was involved in various criminal activities as an associate of David Emon, Kala Mobarak and Tester Mobarak.

Police said his arrest was part of an ongoing drive to apprehend associates of David Emon. Investigators are questioning Harun to learn more about his alleged links with Emon and his involvement in recent criminal activities.

Earlier on Saturday morning, police arrested Tester Mobarak during an operation in Fatikchhari while he was allegedly preparing for a robbery.

During interrogation, the names of several members of the alleged robbery gang who fled the scene came up, including Daba Harun, police said.

OC Rabiul Alam Khan said, "preliminary interrogation and other information indicated Harun’s involvement in various criminal activities."

He also said information had been found about Harun’s alleged involvement in the Saddaam murder case in Kanchannagar.

Harun will be produced before a court after completion of legal procedures, the OC added.
