Two wanted criminals arrested in police raid

Late Sunday (September 13) night, the Hakimpur Police Station conducted raids across various parts of the upazila and apprehended the two men from their respective localities.

The arrested individuals are Phani Mia, 22, son of Raju Mia from the North Basudebpur area in  Hakimpur Municipality, and Mozam Hossain ,also known as Mozammel Haque, 48, son of Yasmin Ali from the Satkuri area in the upazila.

Police stated that Phani Mia is wanted in connection with GR Case No. 9/26, while MozamHossain, alias MozammelHaque, faces warrants related to cases under the Narcotics Control Act and the Special Powers Act, specifically GR Case No. 81/14.

Md. Zakir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hakimpur Police Station, confirmed the arrests and noted that ongoing police operations will continue to target fugitives with outstanding warrants. 

As part of this initiative, a police team led by him conducted raids late Sunday night to arrest the two suspects.

He added that following the completion of legal formalities, the arrested individuals were sent to jail via the court on Sunday.
