President Mirza Fakhrul visits Sylhet today

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will visit Sylhet on Tuesday for the first time since taking office, for a one-day tour of the city.

According to his schedule, the President will first visit the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and Hazrat Shah Paran (RA) after arriving in Sylhet.

He is scheduled to attend a civic reception organised by Sylhet City Corporation at 3:00PM. He is expected to return to Dhaka in the evening after the programme.

Extensive preparations are under way across Sylhet ahead of the President’s visit and are now nearing completion. Arches have been erected and streets and important areas have been cleaned and decorated with lights.

The administration has also strengthened security measures for the visit. The district administration and police administration have already held separate coordination meetings.

Special security arrangements have been made at the venues of the President’s programmes, along his travel routes and in important areas.

Members of the Special Security Force (SSF), President Guard Regiment (PGR), law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies are responsible for security during the visit.
