18 injured in fox attacks in Kishoreganj

At least 18 people were injured in fox attacks in Kishoreganj’s Katiadi and Bajitpur upazilas over two days. Three goats and two cows were also bitten. As the fox has not been caught, panic has spread in several villages.

The attacks took place in different villages from Tuesday (September 15) to Wednesday (September 16).

In Katiadi, a fox first attacked two cows in Para Mondalbhog village. When the owners tried to save the cows, the fox attacked them and later injured nine people.

Another nine people were injured in fox attacks in several villages of Bajitpur, including Bamangao, Chhaypaika, Kalikapur and Indurdair.

The injured received treatment at Katiadi Upazila Health Complex, Jahurul Islam Medical College Hospital in Bajitpur and local facilities. Some victims were also given rabies vaccines.

Residents said fear has spread in the affected villages. Many people are avoiding going outside after evening and are moving in groups. The fox has yet to be caught.
