An application has been submitted to the International Crimes Tribunal-1 requesting that Major General (retd) Ziaul Ahsan, an accused in crimes against humanity cases, be transported from Keraniganj Central Jail alongside other inmates rather than in a solo van.
Advocate Naznin Nahar, defense lawyer and younger sister of Ziaul Ahsan, filed the application on Wednesday (September 16). She clarified that the submission is an unofficial administrative request rather than a direct case-related motion.
The application states that the defense team learned Ziaul Ahsan was being transported separately in a single vehicle while being brought from Keraniganj Central Jail to the tribunal.
The plea highlights concerns regarding potential foul play or harm to his personal safety during isolated transfers.
In light of these safety risks, the application urged authorities to transport Ziaul Ahsan together with other prisoners during court appearances and requested necessary protective measures to ensure his security.
