Manchester United suffered a 3-2 loss to Brighton in the Carabao Cup after giving away a two-goal lead at Old Trafford.

The defeat came just three days after United lost to 10-man Manchester City in a controversial Manchester derby. United fans booed the team after another home loss.

The result also puts more pressure on manager Michael Carrick. United have won only one of their first four Premier League games and are 13th in the table.

The loss made unwanted history for United. Since the Premier League began in 1992-93, this was the first time they lost a home game after taking a two-goal lead. The last such loss came in 1976 against Tottenham.

United started well against Brighton, with academy player Shea Lacey scoring on his first start for the club.
