Milestone School teacher killed in Banasree road crash

A teacher from Milestone School and College has died after being run over by a bus near Meradia of Dhaka’s Banasree.

The incident occurred around 6pm on Wednesday, according to Khilgaon Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Onoy Chandra Paul.

The victim, Taspiya Tisha, was a teacher at the Aftabnagar branch of Milestone School and College.

Following the accident, she was initially rushed to Farazy Hospital in Banasree.

She was later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 9:30pm, where attending doctors pronounced her dead.

SI Onoy said Taspiya was knocked onto the road after being hit by a “Ramjan Paribahan” bus in front of Basumoti Hospital in Meradia.

As she fell, another bus operated by “Tisha Paribahan” ran over her.

Police have seized both buses, and the driver and helper of one of the vehicles have been taken into custody.­
