The Ministry of Religious Affairs has relaxed the passport validity requirement for preliminary registration for the 2027 Hajj, allowing pilgrims to register with expired passports until September 24.
However, pilgrims must update their passports and submit copies through the e-Hajj system before visas are issued. The passports must remain valid until December 31, 2027.
The ministry announced the decision in a notice issued on Thursday.
According to the notice, the deadline for preliminary registration for the 2027 Hajj is September 24. The passport validity requirement has been relaxed to facilitate registration, allowing even holders of expired passports to complete the preliminary registration.
However, such pilgrims or Hajj agencies must submit passports valid until December 31, 2027, through the e-Hajj system when the Pilgrim ID is assigned before visa issuance.
Failure to update and submit the required passport will result in the pilgrim not being issued a visa.
