BNP completes interviews of Thakurgaon-1 nomination aspirants

The BNP has completed interviews with its nomination aspirants for the Thakurgaon-1 by-election, with the party set to announce its final candidate after a decision by its nomination board.

BNP Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi disclosed this while briefing journalists after a meeting of the party’s National Standing Committee at its Gulshan office in Dhaka on Friday night.

The meeting was chaired by BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The Thakurgaon-1 seat fell vacant after Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir assumed the presidency. The by-election is scheduled to be held on October 29.
