Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called for international cooperation, solidarity and shared responsibility to accelerate efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In a video message to the UN’s SDG Moment on Friday, he said, “We are far behind in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. We must now take effective steps and work together.”
The prime minister stressed the need to strengthen international partnerships, exchange experiences and take collective initiatives to implement the SDGs.
World leaders and heads of government from different countries also delivered video messages at the event. The UN said the 2026 SDG Moment focused on accelerating collective action and implementation towards the 2030 Goals.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to leave Dhaka for New York on Monday to attend the high-level segment of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
