Minor drowns in Naogaon pond

NAOGAON, Sept 19: A two-year-old boy drowned in a pond in Madhail Rautara Village of Patnitala Upazila in the district on Saturday afternoon.

The child, Safin, son of Sohag of the village, fell into the Shiyal Dighi pond while his mother was sitting nearby cutting vegetables.

Family members and locals searched for him after he went missing and recovered him from the pond around 1 pm.

Safin was taken to Patnitala Upazila Health Complex, where duty doctor Nishat Tasnim declared him dead.
