Unidentified youth found dead in Dhaka's Bangshal

Police have initiated an investigation following the mysterious death of an unidentified youth, estimated to be 25 years old, whose body was recovered from the Kasaituli Jummon Community Center intersection in Old Dhaka’s Bangshal area late Saturday (September 20) night.

Passersby discovered the youth lying severely injured and unconscious around midnight before rushing him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital with local assistance, where attending doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Eyewitnesses reported that both legs of the deceased were broken and significant physical trauma was visible on the right side of his head. The deceased was wearing a black short-sleeved t-shirt and dark red trousers.

Authorities have not yet established the exact cause of death, leaving open possibilities of homicide, a road accident, or suicide.

Sub-Inspector Md. Selim Hossain of the DMCH police camp confirmed that the body has been placed in the hospital mortuary for autopsy. Relevant police station officials have been notified, and efforts to verify the victim's identity are currently underway.
