Fake currency found in two sacks at Bogura dumpsite

Two sacks filled with fake currency notes were found at a dumpsite in Bogura’s Godarpara area on Sunday, drawing crowds who initially took the notes home believing they were genuine.
The incident occurred in the morning near the Bogura-Naogaon regional highway. After being alerted, police went to the spot and collected some of the fake notes.
Locals said two sacks were found at the dumpsite, containing Tk 500 and Tk 1,000 notes. Many people took bundles home before noticing the words “Only for shooting” printed in small letters on the notes.
Some of them later returned the fake notes to the dumpsite after realising they were not genuine.
Bogura Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ibrahim Ali said police seized a bundle of fake Tk 1,000 notes from the site as evidence.
He said the police were investigating the source of the fake notes and who had dumped them there. Legal action would be taken against those involved after the investigation, he added.
