Bagha Youth Club wins Durbaar Mini Football Championship

Bagha Youth Club Football XI won the Durbaar Mini Football Championship 2026 Season 1 after defeating Bagha Sonar Tari Ekattor Football XI 5-4 on penalties in the final in Bagha, Rajshahi, on Saturday.

The final was held at the field beside the Jame Mosque in Bajubagha New Para on Saturday afternoon. The match ended goalless in normal time, forcing the two sides into a penalty shoot-out, where Bagha Youth Club secured the championship with a 5-4 victory. 

Mehedi Hasan was named Man of the Match, while Zillur Rahman received the Man of the Series award.

A total of 16 teams took part in the tournament, organised by Durbaar Sporting Club.

The prize-giving ceremony following the final was chaired by Kamal Hossain, president of Bagha Municipal BNP. Fahim Ferdous Tiham, director of Durbaar Sporting Club, conducted the programme.

SM Salahuddin Ahmed Shamim Sarker, convener of the district Chhatra Dal, attended the ceremony as the chief guest, while Babul Islam, headteacher of Rahmatullah Girls' High School, was the special guest.

Among those present were Samsher Ali Muntu; Mokhlesur Rahman Mukul, a member of the Bagha Upazila BNP convening committee; Abdul Latif, organising secretary of Bagha Municipal BNP; former organising secretary Afaz Uddin; former president of the Bagha Upazila Jubo Dal Saleh Ahmed Salam; Upazila Jubo Dal convener Shafiqul Islam; Bagha Municipal Fishermen's Dal president Hamidul Haque; and other local political, social and community leaders.
