Truck-ambulance collision in Natore leaves one dead

One person was killed in a head-on collision between a truck and an ambulance in Natore early Monday.

The accident occurred around 5:30 AM on Monday (September 21) in the Chandpur area of the Natore-Rajshahi highway.

The deceased was identified as Swapan Chandra, 50, son of late Gobardhan, from Bhatra village in Sherpur upazila of Bogura.

According to police, the ambulance was travelling from Rajshahi towards Natore when a truck coming from the opposite direction lost control and crashed into it. Swapan Chandra, the ambulance driver, died on the spot.

ASI Haider Ali of Paba Highway Police Station said, "efforts were underway to arrest the truck driver. Legal action would be taken in this regard."
